Lynette (Lin) Aschbacher (she/her) plays Molag. Prior to Firebringer, Lin attended the Music, Arts, and Drama program at Wood Street, playing The Oracle in Greece, J. Finch in Puffs, and many others in variety shows; Her favourite being Dancer#3 of The Baby Dance, A Variety of Acts That Will Make You Question Why You Came. Lin is excited to be part of a new theatre piece, outside of school. So far, she has enjoyed watching characters come to light on stage, and figuring out how to bring Molag to you. 

Additional credits: Trunkell,thing she has been passionate about, she plans to keep it in her life and perform in other local shows for fun. When she isn’t performing, she works in a hunting camp , Snarland aims to become their fix wing pilot someday.

Ezra Baker is a performer at heart who takes any opportunity to sing and act on stage! They are very excited to continue performing as Jemilla in Candlestick’s production of Firebringer, as well as filling in the roles of “producer” and “organizer of chaos”. Ezra’s most notable credits include Mrs. Potts in ‘Beauty and the Beast’ (YTYP), Brooke in ‘Be More Chill’ (CTS), John Cabot (3) in ‘Concord Floral’ (YTYP), Mrs. Jefferson and Alexi Darling in ‘RENT’ (YTYP), and Ensemble in ‘Les Misérables’ (YTYP). They completed three semesters of the Music, Arts, and Drama program at Wood Street Centre before attending Yukon University where they are currently studying to be a teacher. When Ezra isn’t at class or performing, you can find them at The Heart of Riverdale teaching theatre and working in after-school care or rehearsing for the next show!

Casey is very excited to debut her performance 

with Candlestick playing the role of Schwoopsie. She’s completed two semesters in the Music, Arts, and Drama program and performed in several shows including Matt Cox’s ‘Puffs’, M.A.D.s’ Winter show, ‘Winging It’ and some variety shows. She played Maureen in ‘Without Rule of Law’ at the Guild and is thrilled to get another opportunity to be on stage. 

This show is her first experience in a musical and it has been a great opportunity to develop her singing skills. Casey is in grade 11 at F.H. Collins and is a competitive swimmer with the Whitehorse Glacier Bears. She loves travelling, reading, her dog and bubble baths.

Nolan Floyd (he/him) is thrilled to portray Smelly Balls in this production of Firebringer. With excitement to work with this cast and friends because the comradery is special and very talented. Nolan particularly enjoys the music and choreography in this production.

With two years of theatre experience, he has participated in several M.A.D. productions and YTYP shows like "Beauty and the Beast" and the upcoming "Fiddler on the Roof." Offstage, Nolan represents Yukon in curling and participates in many school sports. Now part of Candlestick Theatre, Nolan brings characters to life with his energy and talent. Fun fact: Nolan has wings!

Cameron (18) has been involved in the arts almost his entire life. From the play club at F.H. Collins, to performing in multiple productions at the Music, Arts, and Drama program including; “C’est La Vie” and "Greece ". Cameron has also performed in shows with YTYP, where he is a youth steering committee member. He has also been in many YTYP productions including “Newsies”, “Les Misérables”, “Beauty and the Beast”, and “RENT.” Cameron also played Michael in Candlestick Theatre’s performance of “Be More Chill.” 

Cameron is very thankful for the whole production team of “Firebringer” and all of the work everyone involved has put in. He is delighted to be part of another show with Candlestick.

Gabriel is the President and co-founder of Candlestick Theatre Society, and the Director and Producer of their second production - Starkid’s 'Firebringer'.

Fuelled by a dream to make the professional world of theatre attainable to himself and his peers, he started Candlestick to provide more opportunities for the passionate people around him to perform, practice their craft, and be paid for their passions. The goal is to perform both licensed and original shows, working all year round so that there’s never a dull moment. 

Gabe has been performing all his life; as a child in various companies in Ontario, four years of the MAD program, Newsies, Les Miserables, and Rent with YTYP, and now Candlestick Theatre! 

Gabe acknowledges that this has all been possible due to the tremendous support from the community, and he is eternally grateful. 

Gabe hopes you will come to see Candlestick’s first production in the 2024 season and enjoy the performance of this lively cast.

Asher Johnson (he/him) is very excited to be working as Ducker in this production of Starkid’s Firebringer. This is Asher’s first show with Candlestick Theatre, but he has worked on many others such as Les in Newsies (YTYP), Ensemble in Beauty and the Beast (YTYP), Gavroche in Les Misérables (YTYP) and Prospero in The Tempest (YMS) as well as many others. Asher is very excited to be working on this show as this is his first show in this style. This rehearsal experience has been very helpful for Asher to find his brand of humour for his character and for what works and what doesn’t. 

Asher is going to be performing in Fiddler on the Roof (YTYP) this spring and he is excited to hopefully work on more Candlestick productions in the future.

Ella is a hardworking and fun actress, and she is thrilled to be a part of Candlestick Theatre’s production of Starkid’s ‘Firebringer’! 

Ella will be bringing her very own rendition of Zazzalil to the stage in this production. Some of Ella’s past credits include Fantine in Les Misérables (YTYP-2022), Babette in Beauty and the Beast (YTYP-2023), Mimi Marquez in Rent (YTYP-2023), and Chloe in Candlestick’s recent production of Be More Chill!

Max McLarnon is an interdisciplinary artist who’s thrilled to be working on stage as his debut with Candlestick Theatre Society. The Vancouver-based performer is bringing Grunt out of the cave to a stage near you with this production of Starkid’s ‘Firebringer’. 

Recent credits include Jay in ‘Mustard’ (The Guild Hall), Angel in ‘RENT’ and Ensemble in Les Misérables (Yukon Theatre for Young People); deviser / performer as part of Co-Lab’s Fall 2023 season and Jean-Pierre/Ben in Strange Joy (Simon Fraser University).

Halia, currently a Music, Arts and Drama program student, is a longtime performer who is overjoyed to be a part of her second Candlestick Theatre Society production. Some of her past theatre experiences include ‘Beauty and the Beast’ (YTYP), ‘The Wolves’ (The Guild Hall), one complete semester of the M.A.D. program and the debut show for CTS, ‘Be More Chill’. Along with her acting career, over the years Halia has also done four years of dance, two years of singing lessons and did seven years of violin training. She is thrilled to help bring Firebringer to life as Chorn.

There’s nothing they love more than being onstage, backstage, above stage, and below stage. Previous productions in which they have occupied these locations include: three YTYP shows (one more in the works), two Guild shows, one Candlestick Theatre production, two (soon to be four) M.A.D. shows, a Heart of Riverdale show, and a short film titled "Blueberry Boogie"

They are so glad to be a part of this show with all their amazing friends in the cast and crew. It has been a great experience and the satisfaction of getting to see the hard work on stage is truly something to be cherished!

Sydney has been involved in theatre since 2021 in her first semester at M.A.D.. Since then, they have been involved in many others productions including: Without Rule of Law as Sarah (Guild Hall), The Wolves as an assistant director (Guild Hall), Puffs (M.A.D.), Beauty and The Beast (Yukon Theatre for Young People), and Be More Chill (Candlestick Theatre Society). Sydney has enjoyed being a part of this, at times goofy, at times energetic, rehearsal process and can’t wait for you all to laugh along with us!

Declan Wise (he/him) is the Assistant Stage Manager for Firebringer. He has had lots of theatre experience in years past; having done a semester of M.A.D., played the lead role in the short film Blueberry Boogie, been in YTYP's Beauty and the Beast, as well as Les Mis. Look for him as the Constable in YTYP's upcoming production of Fiddler on the Roof. During his free time, he enjoys reading, watching movies, playing video games, and listening to obscure early 2010's British Alt-Rock bands.
